Pittsburgh Must Dos;

Pittsburgh Must Dos;

As you know by now, the time is quickly approaching where the kids and I will be saying goodbye to Pittsburgh. Yep- we’re heading for the land of Mickey, palm tress, and endless sunshine in Orlando, Florida. Well, if you don’t know, now you know.

Gabriella and I at Point State Park

That’s right, no more dreary skies, no more six months of endless winter, no more cold, cold, cold.

But it also means that we won’t have some of our favorite places in the world as we know it- Phipps Conservatory, The Carnegie Science Center, The Children’s Museum of Pittsburgh, precious friends and family, and other Pittsburgh classics.

Nico at Seven Springs Autumnfest

We won’t have our favorite staycation spots- Seven Springs Resort, The Pittsburgh Rennaissance, Nemacolin Woodlands, Omni Bedford Springs, and others!

Gabriella and I at Phipps Conservatory for the Japanese Inspirations show

And this is where all of you come in!

Help us compile a list of things that we have to do in Pittsburgh before our time expires – there’s so many things here in this city and while we’re still residents, we want to do as many of them as possible!

Nico at Soergel’s Orchards

Despite trying two separate times, we’ve still not made it to a ballgame at PNC Park so that’s on the list once the weather warms up a bit. I want to make a weekend trip to Niagara Falls while it’s still within driving distance. I thought about doing the Hershey Lodge, but I don’t know. I’d love to get in an NYC and DC trip, but NYC is a bit scary as a mom with 3 kids so little; DC seems a bit more practical even though we were there in November. Maybe for cherry blossoms in April. I would love to get to another Penguins game. Kennywood seems like a no brainer, but I really didn’t enjoy myself much the last time I went and, we’re about to be annual passholders at Walt Disney World, so that seems like we can let that one slide.

What suggestions do you have for us before we say we “used to” live in Pittsburgh?
